Doctor Honoris Causa: Prof. Joseph Wang

Professor Joseph Wang (University of California - San Diego, USA) has been designated Doctor Honoris Causa in Chemistry by the University of Alcalá, Spain. Wang receives this unique distinction due to his reputation as a researcher of the highest standard. The ceremony was in the 16th-century Paraninfo of Alcala University on 24 November 2011.

Joseph Wang's earlier research has been focused on electrochemical biosensors and detectors for clinical diagnostics and environmental monitoring. Prof. Wang's current research interests include the development of nanomotors and nanomachines, enzyme logic gate and nanomaterials-based sensors, electrochemical biosensors, bioelectronics, microfluidic ("Lab-on-a-Chip") devices, and remote sensors for environmental and security monitoring [+].
